On Tuesday, gold futures dropped 0.3% to Rs 50,881 per 10 grams after witnessing a Rs 1,000 fall on Monday. The yellow metal is down by Rs 1,200 per 10 grams in the three trading sessions.
Ravindra Rao, CMT, EPAT, VP- Head Commodity Research at Kotak Securities explained that yellow metal has not seen much safe-haven buying as investors are largely moving towards the dollar index.
Gold prices might remain under pressure today as the dollar continues to gain momentum and US 10-year treasury yields rose to near 4% ahead of FOMC meeting minutes and speeches by several Fed members, he added.
