Bharti Airtel has introduced a new mobile prepaid plan that combines unlimited 5G data with a complimentary Netflix Basic subscription. This unique package, currently the sole offering of its kind from Airtel for prepaid users, is now available nationwide for users looking for fast speed internet with OTT benefits.

According to Telecom Talk, Airtel has introduced a new addition to its prepaid plans at Rs Rs 1499 offering. Despite no official announcements from the company regarding this plan, the telecom operator has quietly added the new plan to its listing showing on both the website and mobile app. Let’s take a detailed look at all the offerings under Airtel’s Rs 1499 prepaid plan.

Airtel Rs 1499 plan details

Airtel’s latest Rs 1,499 prepaid recharge plan offers 3GB of daily data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day, all valid for 84 days. The plan further include a range of supplementary perks, including a complimentary Netflix Basic subscription, unlimited 5G data access, Apollo 24|7 Circle membership, free Hellotunes, and Wynk Music access. It’s worth noting that the standalone cost of a Netflix Basic subscription in India is Rs 199, however, Airtel is offering it as a complementary deal allowing users to save on extra subscription cost.

To claim your complimentary Netflix Basic subscription, Airtel prepaid subscribers can access it through the Airtel Thanks app, similar to the process for claiming unlimited 5G data benefits. To avail, navigate to the ‘Discover Thanks Benefits’ section within the app, where you’ll find the Netflix benefit prominently displayed. Tap on the ‘Claim’ button followed by a simple ‘Proceed’ confirmation, to activate Netflix subscription on your mobile number.

Notably, the bundled Netflix Basic subscription remains valid for the entire 84-day duration of the prepaid plan. As per Airtel’s policy, “For Prepaid, the benefit will continue as long as the customer stays on a Netflix eligible recharge & as per recharge validity.”

Meanwhile, Airtel’s rival Reliance Jio Reliance Jio has two prepaid plans that include a Netflix subscription, catering to both mobile and larger-screen viewing needs. The Rs 1,099 plan caters to mobile users, providing unlimited 5G data, 2GB daily data, unlimited voice calling, and an 84-day validity. For larger-screen viewing, the Rs 1,499 plan offers unlimited 5G internet on compatible devices, also with an 84-day validity.

Both plans include the advantage of the basic Netflix Mobile subscription. Users with existing Netflix accounts can link them during the Netflix activation process. Until the account is linked, users will continue to be charged separately for their Netflix subscription. These plans offer a seamless viewing experience across mobile devices, larger screens like the Jio Set-top Box, tablets, and laptops.
